NTSB Team To Board MV Dali For Investigation

NTSB team to board MV Dali for initial investigation on Wednesday.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) team is scheduled to board the MV Dali for the first time on Wednesday, as announced by Chair Jennifer Homendy in an interview with CNN. The team's primary objective during this initial boarding is to search for any electronic devices on the vessel that could potentially provide valuable information for the ongoing investigation.

Homendy further elaborated that the investigators are currently in the process of identifying their initial targets for investigation. This includes determining the individuals who will be interviewed as part of the inquiry and establishing which entities will be involved in the investigative process.

In addition to focusing on electronic evidence, the NTSB team is also gearing up to examine the structural integrity of the bridge and assess any debris that may have fallen into the Patapsco River or onto the ship itself during the incident. This thorough examination of physical evidence is crucial in piecing together the sequence of events leading up to the crash.

Homendy highlighted the presence of a specialized investigative team among the 24 NTSB investigators on-site. This specialized team is tasked with the critical responsibility of determining the individuals who were in control of the vessel at the time of the collision and identifying the personnel present on the ship's bridge during the incident.
