The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is leading a team of investigators in the United States to assist the Transportation Safety Board of Canada with the investigation into a Delta Air Lines plane that crashed on landing in Toronto. This collaborative effort is in accordance with the International Civil Aviation Organization's Annex 13, which governs how accident investigations are conducted.

Annex 13 of the ICAO, which references 19 technical annexes to ensure consistency in international civil aviation practices, outlines the procedures for determining participation in accident investigations. As per this protocol, any updates or information regarding the investigation will be provided by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced that Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) investigators are en route to Toronto to support the investigation. Secretary Duffy has also been in communication with his Canadian counterpart to offer assistance and coordinate efforts between the two countries.

The NTSB's involvement underscores the importance of international cooperation in aviation safety and accident investigations. By working together, aviation authorities can gather crucial information, analyze data, and implement safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
