National Television Awards host Joel Dommett seemingly confessed to an "awkward" encounter with the Strictly Come Dancing team, as he reunited with them onstage after they triumphed over his own show, The Masked Singer. The former I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! runner-up, 37, returned to host the award ceremony for the second time on Thursday, October 13. You can read about all the winners here.
Strictly was announced to have won the award for Talent Show, beating competitors Britain's Got Talent, RuPaul's Drag Race UK and The Masked Singer - which Joel has presented since 2020. Collecting their prize, 2021 Strictly winners Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice led speeches, thanking all the people involved in the show. They were joined on-stage by several other members of the cast and crew.
As the Strictly crew exited the stage, NTAs host Joel clambered up the steps and could be heard muttering what sounded like: "This is awkward. Didn't rehearse where I didn't win," before going straight back into presenter mode to shout: "Well done guys, well done. The prop guy got a thank, I like that!" reports ChronicleLive
