TV fans took to Twitter last night when they spotted the Loose Women panellists being "a bit shady" as they reacted to This Morning winning an award at the National Television Awards.
When Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield took to the stage to collect their gong with their fellow presenters and crew, the camera panned to the Loose Women panellists - including Kaye Adams - as viewers thought the stars looked less than impressed.
This Morning and Loose Women were up for the best daytime gong, which This Morning won last year as well. One viewer wrote on Twitter: "Anyone else see the loose women nod there head with the eye roll when holly n Phil won." Another said: "Seeing @loosewomen ‘s Linda Robsons face & reaction when they announced @thismorning as the #NTA winner was so so funny... ahahaha."
One wrote: "Take it the voting was before queue gate! Loose Women looked fuming." Another said: "The @loosewomen clearly not happy about @thismorning picking the #Daytime #NTA #NTAAwards.
While one penned: "Well the #LooseWomen didnt look bitter at all #NTAAwards." And another added: "Loose Women being a bit shady there at the This Morning win #NTAAwards."
Holly and Phil were delighted with the win, with an emotional Phil saying they don't take the award for granted. He handed the mic over to fellow presenter Alison Hammond, who joked she should have won best presenter over Ant & Dec, who won the category for the twenty-first year in a row.
This Morning's win came after queue-gate, when people mistakenly thought Holly and Phil jumped the queue to see the Queen lying in state, prompting public fury and trolling on social media. The 2022 NTAs were originally due to take place on September 15 but were put on hold as a mark of respect following the death of the Queen.
The NTA's are always a special moment in the showbiz industry, but this year's awards are particularly meaningful due to the collection of poignant documentaries, soap storylines, and drama series that 2022 had to offer.
After a hugely exciting year of TV – which included the most-watched series of Love Island, the final series of Peaky Blinders, and some eye-opening documentaries from stars including Tom Parker's wife Kelsey Parker, and Katie Price - the most famous faces on TV have made up for lost time as they dressed to impress for the exciting night.
Star-studded nominees include Cillian Murphy, Sir David Attenborough, Katie Price, Graham Norton and many more. Overall, there are 65 nominees in 16 categories, including the brand new Expert category which includes nominees Martin Lewis, the Money Saving Expert, as well as Kaleb Cooper from Clarkson's Farm.
