NT Police make multiple arrests following alleged break-in and ram raid incidents across Darwin

A Darwin man was allegedly attacked in his own home and had his car stolen on Sunday morning – an incident that police say was one in a series of alleged break-ins and car thefts across the weekend in the Greater Darwin area.

Police allege up to six youths broke into the man's house in Nightcliff at about 12.30am Sunday armed with weapons where they threatened him with a knife, punched him in the head and stole a number of items including his car.

Police recovered the car in Malak and arrested a 15-year-old male later on Sunday.

A 13 and 16-year-old were arrested on Saturday for allegedly breaking into a woman's home armed, stealing a number of items and then stealing her car.

Police arrested four teenagers on Saturday following a pursuit between Channel Island and Adelaide River that allegedly involved stolen vehicles.

A 20-year-old was taken to the Palmerston Watch House following an alleged unlawful entry at a licensed premises on Chung Wah Terrace in Palmerston on Sunday morning.

Four hours after the alleged initial break-in, the premises was broken into again, police allege. Two men, aged 18 and 22, were arrested and charged.

Four vehicles were allegedly stolen from residences in Muirhead and Zuccoli and then driven to a licensed premises in Stuart Park on Sunday morning, police said.

Police said one of the vehicles was used to enter the building, which caused "significant damage".

And three youths are in police custody following three alleged commercial ram-raid incidents in the Greater Darwin region overnight.

"Police are urging anyone with information about these incidents to come forward and assist with their ongoing investigations," NT Police said in a statement.

"These types of incidents affect not only the business owners but also the wider community and the police are committed to ensuring the safety and security of Territorians."
