A man has died in an incident south of Katherine near the Stuart Highway in the Northern Territory.
Police are investigating with a press conference scheduled for Thursday afternoon at the Katherine Police Station.
In a Facebook post officers said: "There is no risk to the public but the community should be aware of an increased police presence in the area and follow all instructions".
Police are understood to have locked a gate at the entrance to Cutta Cutta Caves Nature Park on Thursday morning.
The park is located about 30km south of the town.
