A motorcyclist has died after the driver of a stolen ute failed to stop for police, smashed into the rider and then hit a fence north of Sydney.
The ute driver allegedly ignored a direction to stop when spotted by police in Toronto about 10pm on Thursday night, police said.
No pursuit was called but the vehicle was followed to nearby Fennell Bay, where the vehicle hit the motorcyclist at an intersection.

After hitting the rider, the stolen ute crashed through a fence and became stuck between the fence and a home.
The driver then allegedly stole another vehicle, in which he was captured later.
He's been taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
