Two people accused of kidnapping a man in Victoria's southwest have been arrested in NSW, four days since their alleged botched attempt.
Victoria Police allege a woman driving a blue Holden Commodore sedan picked up a 38-year-old man from Hamilton about 11.30pm on Friday.
Once he was inside the car, it is alleged another man - who was hiding in the vehicle - assaulted him.
The alleged offenders drove to a petrol station on Cox Street at Hamilton where the victim managed to escape and alert others.
He was taken to hospital with facial injuries.
Police on Wednesday said a 38-year-old South Australian man and a 33-year-old woman from Stawell, also in Victoria's southwest, were arrested on the Barrier Highway at Wilcannia in northwest NSW about 6.30pm on Tuesday.
Both were taken into custody, and detectives from the Hamilton crime investigation unit would make an application for their extradition to Victoria.
