Greene King pubs in Nottinghamshire have confirmed they will be offering 'warm hubs' to customers who are looking to save money by heating their homes. Among the pubs is the Nottingham Knight, off Loughborough Road, between Edwalton, Ruddington and West Bridgford.
The hub will be open every Tuesday evening from November 1 until Christmas from 6pm to 9pm. A spokesperson for the Nottingham Knight said: “From November, every Tuesday evening we will be offering a free tea or coffee for those who wish to enjoy our cosy pub or be around other people.
"As nights draw in earlier, we wanted to support our local community and offer a space where people know they will be welcomed by our friendly staff and a complimentary hot drink.”

Fellow Greene King pub The Hayloft, in Nottingham Road in Giltbrook, are also offering up the pub as a 'warm hub'. A statement on the pub's Facebook page on Monday (October 24) read: "Calling people of Giltbrook, Langley Mill, Heanor, Kimberley and Eastwood! We recognise that darker nights are drawing in and utility bills continue to rise.
"The team at The Hayloft would like to extend the warmest of welcome and offer you a ‘warm hub’. With immediate effect from 12 daily we are offering a warm space and free of charge wifi. Not only for those who wish to delay putting the heating on for a few hours or simply to be around other people, this is for everyone. The true pub with a buzz!"
It comes after local councils across Nottinghamshire confirmed that they were looking into plans to establish ‘warm rooms’ for local people who can’t afford heating this winter. The idea could see further community spaces – also known as ‘warm banks’ – popping up across the county, for locals struggling to pay their gas and electricity bills.
