Notts County have completed the signing of promising Norwich City goalkeeper Archie Mair on loan until the end of the season.
The Magpies confirmed the signing of the 21-year-old on Friday afternoon ahead of their FA Trophy fixture with Maidstone this Sunday.
Mair, who has represented Scotland at various youth levels and has been training with Luke Williams' side, will provide competition for number-one goalkeeper Sam Slocombe following Brad Young’s return to Leicester City.

The Magpies' goalkeeper coach, Tom Weal, who worked with the 21-year-old at Norwich, said: “Archie is a highly-skilled young goalkeeper with a significant amount of experience both in this league and on the international stage.
“He’s a top professional and brings with him a brilliant work rate and many of the tools we look for in our goalkeepers, which allow them to complement the team’s style of play.
“It’s really important that we brought in the right person to strengthen our goalkeeping department and add to its culture, and I’m delighted Archie has agreed to come on board.
“His arrival means we’re now able to look for the most appropriate loan for Tiernan Brooks to gain more competitive game experience, which is currently vital for his development.”
Mair began his career in Aberdeen’s youth setup before joining the Canaries, for whom he was twice named among the substitutes in the Premier League.
He has National League experience from a spell with King’s Lynn Town, while he has also spent time with Lincoln City and, this season, National League South title-chasers Dartford.
And speaking ahead of this weekend's FA Trophy fixture at Meadow Lane, Mair intends to use that experience to challenge for the number one spot during his time with the Magpies.
"I think that has got me used to the league and I know what some of the teams are about in terms of trying to leave one on you maybe as a young goalkeeper.
"But I think really that me trying to get into the team is about me taking chances and impressing, keeping my head down, and training hard.
"I think I just need to do that and crack on and just be ready if I do get that chance to take it.
While Weal had been influential in his move to Notts after working together at Norwich City, the 21-year-old was on hand to explain his first impressions of Williams when he arrived at the club on Monday.
Many players that have joined the club since Williams' arrival have praised the Notts boss for the influence he has around the club.
And Mair was no different, pinpointing one thing in particular that stood out before signing for the club.
"I think his attention to detail stood out for me," explained Mair.
"From the first day I came here on Monday we had a meeting first thing in the morning, and you could just tell he was top class from how he was reviewing the game they had at the weekend and looking forward to the game at Boreham Wood.
"And on the grass, he is always coming up with things and his attention to detail in that was brilliant."
