Notts County announce Jason Turner tribute for Wealdstone fixture

Notts County have confirmed plans to honour much-loved CEO Jason Turner in this Friday's National League fixture with Wealdstone on what would have been his seven-year anniversary at the club.

The news was announced of Mr Turner's passing on Friday morning, with the club inundated with tributes from friends and colleagues in football and beyond.

A book of condolence will be in Magpies' club shop all week, presenting supporters with the opportunity to leave a personal mark of respect.

And Luke Williams' side's Good Friday fixture will give the club and fans the opportunity to come together in Mr Turner's memory, with a commemorative matchday programme, both teams to wear special warm-up t-shirts and black armbands, a tribute flag on display in the Kop, and a pre-match minute’s applause.

A statement from Mr Turner's family, who will be in attendance, reads: “Words cannot describe how appreciative we are of everyone’s incredible support.

“We knew how loved and respected Jason was but the hundreds of messages we’ve received have been a great comfort to us.

“While we remain stricken by grief, we could not miss the opportunity to join Jason’s colleagues and the club’s supporters in remembering him at what was his second home.

“We would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at the club, who have been so supportive.”
