A Nottinghamshire biker died along with a teaching assistant and her dog after a carriageway collision, an inquest has heard. Conleth Grant, 57, from Thurgarton, and Jeanette Lord, 56, both died following a crash on the A52 bypass near Ashbourne, Derbyshire between the Derby Road and Clifton Road roundabouts on Saturday, March 26, 2022.
An inquest found that both died as a result of a road traffic collision, as reported by Derbyshire Live. Ms Lord, of Duncombe Drive, Ashbourne, had been walking her dog Bramble along the road at the time of the accident, according to Derbyshire police.
Ms Lord, a teaching assistant, was crossing the A52 Ashbourne bypass from a designated footpath. Due to a car travelling in lane one of the road, it is likely that Ms Lord's view was initially obscured and she didn't see Mr Grant until she was in the road.

Mr Grant, of Bleasby Road, Thurgarton, was riding his motorcycle appropriately and within the speed limit. The law firm manager made an attempt to avoid the collision as did Ms Lord but neither were able to.
Both Ms Lord and her dog were pronounced dead at the scene having sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. Mr Grant was taken to Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham where he later died that same day.
Ms Lord's medical cause of death was listed by Assistant Coroner Louise Pinder as multiple injuries. Mr Grant's was recorded as an extensive traumatic head injury.
Both inquests were given a conclusion of a road traffic collision. Conleth Grant's and Jeanette Lord's inquests concluded at Derby Coroner Court on Thursday, February 23, 2023.
