A Nottinghamshire primary school has been forced to close due to a serious crash in the early hours of the morning. Closures remain in place in three roads in Trowell on Wednesday (November 23).
The A609 Ilkeston Road, A609 Nottingham Road and A6007 Stapleford Road have shut where they meet the Festival Inn. Photos from the scene show a seriously damaged car within the police cordon, with motorists being blocked from driving through.
As a result of the road closures, Trowell CofE Primary announced it would be closed today. "School is closed today (Wednesday 23 November) due to a serious accident in Trowell village. Access is blocked to cars and pedestrians," it said in a statement on its website.
Earlier this morning Derbyshire Police posted: "Drivers are asked to avoid the area and leave plenty of time to travel this morning as the road will remain closed for some time." Nottinghamshire Live has approached the force for further details.
