A woman in her 50s died in a crash in Mansfield Woodhouse on New Year's Eve. Old Mill Lane was closed for several hours after the collision on Saturday, December 31, which emergency services were called to at around 6.20pm.
The route was shut in both directions for a period and motorists were being advised to find alternative routes. In an update on the collision on Tuesday (January 3), Nottinghamshire Police confirmed a woman died at the scene of the crash.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Emergency services were called to a single vehicle collision on Old Mill Lane, Mansfield Woodhouse, at 6.20pm on Saturday after a car left the road. Sadly the driver of the vehicle, a woman in her fifties, died at the scene.

"Investigations are ongoing and a file will be prepared for the coroner." Officers say that any additional witnesses to the incident can call 101, quoting incident number 464 of December 31, if they have information to pass on to police.
