Inspector Abi Goucher, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers were called to Porchester Road, Mapperley, at around 10.05am today (24 May 2022), following reports of a collision between a car and a motorbike.

“A man was taken to hospital after sustaining injuries during the incident. Officers remain at the scene as an investigation is underway to establish exactly what happened and a temporary police cordon has been set up while this takes place.

"Porchester Road is currently closed from Mapperley Top to the junction with Sandford Road. We would ask anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information or dash-cam footage that could assist us with our enquiries, to get in touch with the police immediately.”

The community in the area have voiced their shock at the aftermath. Paul Randall, 56, who is self employed and lives off Porchester Road said: “I’m shocked by it all.”

Anyone with any information is urged to call 101, quoting incident number 182 of 24 May 2022, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
