Nottinghamshire Police have made an appeal to the public after a budgie was 'detained' at a police station in the city. The bird winged its way into St Ann's Police Station on Sunday, February 26.
In a Facebook post, police said it was detained by officers before being taken to a bird sanctuary until its owner returns. "Does anyone recognise this Budgie who has been detained at St Ann's Police Station?" they said.
"They are ready for release as soon as the owner comes to collect them. Please contact our control room on 101 quoting Incident number 0508_26022023. UPDATE. Thanks for all the Bird related comments....PC Tweety has gone to stay at a local Bird Sanctuary until his owner comes forward."
