Police have launched an appeal after a serious assault which left the victim needing hospital treatment. Officers were called to Mansfield Road, Sherwood, Nottingham, after reports a man had been attacked.

The victim required hospital treatment after the incident, which took place at around 1am on June 17. The victim was seen to get out of a Vauxhall Corsa with two women and go into the Nisa shop and post office, on Mansfield Road. Police have now released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

Detective Constable Toni Smithurst, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a nasty attack which left the victim with serious injuries and needing time in hospital. Having carried out CCTV enquiries across the area we would now like to speak with the man pictured in this image as we believe he may have vital information which could help our investigation.
