Nottinghamshire mum dropped 3 dress sizes after becoming 'lost' due to weight gain

A Nottinghamshire mum of four has lost more than three stone and dropped three dress sizes after joining Weight Watchers. Healthcare assistant, Natalie Dean, of Mansfield Woodhouse explained that she gained weight during lockdown and her fourth pregnancy to the point where she felt like her identity was "lost" and she "didn't know how to dress her bigger size."

The 34 year old explained: "Basically I put on weight during lockdown with eating the wrong food, takeaways and drinking, and then I got pregnant with my son and I put on four stone during pregnancy. After I had him I just felt absolutely rubbish and didn't know how to dress myself.

"I just thought I've got to make a change and I felt really unfit for my children. I signed up online to Weight Watchers as at the time that was the only option due to the coronavirus, then I started the Ollerton class as soon as it was possible and started exercising."

What three words would you use to describe Nottinghamshire? Let us know.

Natalie joined Weight Watchers in 2021 and over the course of 18 months she lost a total of three stone and one pound. The mum now feels all of her "hard work was worth it" as she can look in the mirror and like what she sees.

When asked how she feels after dropping from a size 18 to size 12, Natalie replied: "It feels amazing, just absolutely amazing. I just feel so much more confident in the clothes that I wear."

In addition to Weight Watchers, Natalie explained that she was tracking what she ate but also took up running. She said: "I have never run before, couldn't run and I just thought one day I need something just for me.

"I thought you know what, I'm going to have that time for me and I started doing bits of running and doing more and more and then I was able to do a 5k. I couldn't have done it without Kate Palmer, my coach, and my class, they have been such a great support."

Before she knew it Natalie was running a 5k three times a week, which she described as a "massive achievement." She added: "I got to the point where I would catch myself in the mirror and for once be proud of what I see and the achievement of what I had done felt so good."
