Homes in Nottinghamshire are set to go under the hammer with guide prices from £15,000. However, the two-bed which is pitched at the same price as a compact car, comes with a catch.
Listed for sale in Bond Wolfe's next auction are some Nottinghamshire homes that will appeal to house hunters with an eye for a bargain. Kicking off the offering is a two-bed mid-terrace with what even the auctioneers are calling "a remarkable guide price".
The house in Cheapside, Worksop has a guide of just £15,000-£20,000. You'll need to be a keen DIYer though if you are thinking of making a bid. The property is "a work-in-progress" but the agent adds it "need only be completed to make a comfortable modern home".

Accommodation includes a reception room and kitchen with dining area downstairs. There are two bedrooms with a bathroom and WC upstairs and gardens front and rear.
Also lined up to tempt buyers to the livestreamed auction on Thursday, May 19, is a two-bed in Dalestorth Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. This mid-terrace has a guide price of £30,000 plus.
Again, it is in need of modernisation but comes with gas-fired central heating and UPVC double glazing fitted. There's a small garden to the front and gardens to the rear.
Those thinking about it as their next home will want to know that the two-bed home also has two reception rooms and a galley kitchen, plus an upstairs bathroom with WC.
Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe, said: “Properties like this offer an ideal opportunity for those with some DIY skills looking for their first step on the property ladder, or investors looking to boost their rental portfolio.
“Some properties require more work than others, but all come with guide prices that are a fraction of market values and offer a huge return for those prepared to invest time and energy.”
Just over the border into Leicestershire, those looking for a house that's a little bigger may be tempted by a three-bed in Whitehouse Avenue, Loughborough. The semi has a guide price of £69,000+. It has a driveway and gardens - although the agent says the gardens are overgrown, but adds: "The rear may offer the opportunity for development, subject to the necessary planning permissions".
Mr Bassi added: “Once again there is a terrific choice of properties, and we are expecting plenty of competitive bidding on the day.”
The 161 lot sale includes nearly a dozen homes across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire. The sale starts at 9am on Thursday, 19 May, and will be livestreamed. However, bidders will need to pre-register.
