Nottinghamshire Heron Foods store wants to stay open later and sell alcohol

A Heron Foods in Nottinghamshire has applied to the council for a license to sell alcohol and remain open later throughout the week. The store, located in Blenheim Drive, Beeston, is bidding to remain open until 10pm through Monday to Saturday - an hour earlier than they currently do, with alcohol permitted to be sold throughout these hours.

They will open their doors at 7am. A meeting of the alcohol and entertainments licensing hearing panel of Broxtowe Borough Council will meet on Tuesday, October 11, where a decision will be made.

A letter appealing against the application was submitted to the council, objecting to an extension of the opening hours. Part of the letter read: "I really don't think there is a need for this in the area. There are more than enough establishments within walking distance if alcohol is required.
