Firefighters have reunited a family after their toddler became trapped inside a vehicle. East Leake Fire Station responded to reports of a male trapped inside a vehicle shortly before 11am on Sunday, January 29.
Upon arrival, crews from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said they found two year old Aubrey trapped inside the car with the keys following an accidental locking of the car. The crew broke the window to the passenger side of the car to gain entry to the vehicle.
After Aubrey was rescued from the vehicle and back in his mum's arms he was gifted with a small teddy bear from the crew. Aubrey has reportedly named the teddy 'Alex' after one of the firefighters who helped rescue him.
Following the incident East Like Fire Station put a post on Facebook stating: "Following an accidental locking of the car. Two Year old Aubrey was trapped in the vehicle with the keys on the inside.
"Due to a very upset mum and child a rapid unlocking was required. The crew broke the window to passenger side to gain entry.
"Once Aubrey was out in mums arms he was gifted with a little bear which he has named Alex after one of the crew."
