A family-run ice cream business is celebrating success in a national competition.
Local ice cream van and ice cream maker business, Manfredi's Ices, from Worksop, has won a Gold Medal and Trophy at the National Ice Cream Championships 2022.
Their delicious dairy ice cream beat all comers in the competition, which has been running for nearly 80 years.
Robert Manfredi, who runs Manfredi Ices, said of the win: “We are really proud to have won this award against some very good competition.”
Robert and his brother Paul Manfredi are the fourth generation to run the business, which was established in 1905 and has always been located in Worksop.
The pair run a fleet of 20 ice cream vans in and around the local area and supply ice cream to local restaurants.
Robert added: “We have recently opened a local café where we hope to showcase our award-winning ice creams.”
In past years, Manfredi’s Ices has also won National Ice Cream Championship awards in the Vanilla, Strawberry and Raspberry Ripple classes.
The Championship, which is run by the Ice Cream Alliance (ICA), is known as the ‘Oscars’ of the ice cream awards.
Hundreds of products are submitted across thirteen categories ranging from Best Vanilla to ‘Alternative’ category products, which includes those free from the top 14 allergens, dairy-free, low-fat, high-protein, no-sugar, and others.

“The ice cream sector has had a challenging time over the last two years. Robert and his team show that the sector has overcome these challenges and has bounced back better than ever for 2022 and the future.”
