Nottinghamshire Aldi to close for five days as refurb gets underway

A Nottinghamshire supermarket is set for a complete refurb but will have to close to the public from next week to carry out the transformation. Aldi in Nottingham Road, Bingham will close its doors at 8.00pm on Saturday, September 3, re-opening five days later with a brand new look.

The store says that wider aisles will make shopping 'easier' with "helpful signs" pointing to the sectioned produce. The retailer said: "We've listened to our customers and created a store that makes shopping with us even better. Not only can you enjoy shopping in a new look store but by making the store easier to shop in, it will help you find your favourites and all our new ranges too".

As part of the new look, freezers will be relocated and replaced. The frozen section will take up the wall which currently houses milk, cheese and cold meats and this, along with the facing section of the aisle, will be replaced with stand-up freezers. Beers, wines and spirits will now line the back wall of the store alongside fresh milk.

While the store is being refurbished, Aldi has said shoppers should use nearby branches. It is directing customers to its store in Edwalton, Grantham or Netherfield.

Bingham's new look store opens at 8am on Thursday, September 8. It will be just in time to customers to pick up the retailer's latest release of specialbuys, which usually roll out weekly on Thursday and Sunday.
