A divorcee from Nottingham is hoping to find the man of her dreams on a TV series where couples meet on their 'wedding day'. Married at First Sight UK returns to E4 promising to be an even bigger and better series with 30 episodes where singletons say 'I do' to a complete stranger before heading off on a luxury honeymoon.
Seven women and nine men make up the eight couples who will be walking down the aisle, after been matched by relationship experts Melanie Schilling, Paul C. Brunson and Charlene Douglas. A 49-year-old waitress, Lara, from Nottingham, is one of those looking for love.
The Canadian ex-dancer has been married and divorced twice and is hoping this will be third time lucky. The mother-of-two has led a luxury lifestyle. She once flew from Japan to New York for dinner and was used to spending vast sums on clothes. Her life is very different today though.

Lara’s relationship role models are her parents who have been married for 51 years and are one another’s best friend. She said they are madly in love all these years later. Lara finds herself trying to force every relationship she has to be like theirs, often letting red flags slide to try and make the relationship work.
Although she’s been single for 12 years now, Lara still believes in fairy-tale romance and is forever looking for her prince, to introduce to her two sons. She confessed: "The experts couldn’t pick any worse than I could pick."
The marriages aren't legal, rather the couples will make a lifelong commitment to one another at a ceremony, overseen by a wedding celebrant, that includes guests, bridal gowns, dancing, speeches and cake. Relationships will be put under the microscope, by fellow brides and grooms at weekly dinner parties as well as by the experts, at recurring commitment ceremonies, where couples choose whether they want to stay in or leave the process.
All this and more will build to a dramatic series finale: glossy, high-stakes vow renewals, in which each couple must decide if they will recommit to their partner or go their separate ways.
This year's pairings have yet to be announced but the grooms include Ritchie, 51, a sales advisor from Sheffield, Adrian, 37, a digital designer from Manchester and George, 40, from Worcester, a dad-of-four and financial advisor.
Two of the couples in the 2021 series are still together. Adam and Taylah announced in April they were ecstatic to be having their first child while the show's first same sex couple Dan and Matt are still going strong. Married at First Sight UK as All 4’s third most streamed series of 2021
