Nottingham nursery sold to nationwide group 30 years after being set up

A Nottingham nursery has been sold to a national nursery group. Carrington Day Nursery, situated in Mansfield Road has changed hands to Kids Planet more than 30 years after being set up.

Tina Jones, who has run the nursery since starting it in 1991, said it was in safe hands. “I’m looking forward to having the time to pursue other interests now I’m in the knowledge that Carrington Day Nursery is in Kids Planet’s safe hands,” she said.

Carrington Day Nursery has a 'Good' Ofsted rating and has capacity for up to 98 children aged six weeks to five years. It becomes Kids Plant's 126th nursery in the UK.

Announcing the news of the sale on Wednesday, August 31, chief executive Clare Roberts said: “Carrington Day Nursery is set in a wonderful Victorian building and has established a good reputation in the local area. The setting has a strong focus on quality provision and experiences for children and their families, and I see many synergies with our own ethos.

"We are delighted to welcome Carrington into the Kids Planet family and we look forward to supporting the team.” Carrington Day Nursery was sold for an undisclosed price.
