Nottingham neighbours saddened after serious house fire in Broxtowe estate

Neighbours voiced their sadness following a 'serious' house fire in a Nottingham street. The fire in Deepdene Way, in the Broxtowe Estate of Nottingham, was first reported at 10.40am on Thursday, November 17.

Roads were closed at Amesbury Circus with its junction at Deepdene Way due to a large emergency services presence. Fire engines, police cars, and an ambulance were pictured responding to the fire.

Locals spoke of the scenes as emergency services descended on the street. Chloe Grocock, 20, who lives in Deepdene Way, said: "It was out by the time I came back but you could see smoke.

A resident called Charlene, who did not give her surname, lives nearby. She said she did not see the fire but was saddened by the incident. She said: “It’s so sad that it has happened - it looks serious. It’s such a shame.”

Fire crews from Stockhill, Arnold, Highfields and Mansfield attended the incident. A fire investigation is set to take place at the affected property.
