Nottingham Love Island star Ikenna Ekwonna's followers double despite negative comments

Nottingham's Love Island contestant Ikenna Ekwonna has received the most 'negative sentiment', according to a digital agency, after the first episode aired last night (Monday, June 6). The 23-year-old contestant isn't as loved as the others by viewers but has seen his social media followers more than double overnight.

Pharmaceutical salesman Ikenna made his debut on the hit ITV2 show as he tries to find love in the villa. Data has shown that contestant's lives can change overnight with their Instagram followers surging already.

Ikenna had 7,200 followers on his social media account before the Love Island premier but, since the 9pm Monday show, his followers have more than doubled to 16.2k. The Nottingham contestant has seen his follower count rise by 102.80% in one night.

The SEO Works also managed to get an early insight into which contestants are the most liked and disliked. According to their data, Amber is currently the favourite after having received a 90.2% 'positive sentiment' after the episode premier.

Ikenna is the least loved contestant with a 69.2% 'positive sentiment', based on social media interaction, but a 11.2% 'negative sentiment'. Nottingham's contender ranks as the person with the highest number of 'negative sentiment'.

However, Davide has the lowest number of 'positive sentiment' at 56.5%. His negative ranking is just at 2.4%. Nottingham's own Ikenna was hand picked by scouters for the show while in London and describes himself as "single by choice".
