Nottingham is expected to reach highs of 21C as sunshine is predicted across the entire day. On Saturday, May 27, people will be able to enjoy a warm start to their bank holiday weekend with temperatures staying in the high teens and low twenties all day.
Some parts of the UK are expected to reach 24C today, in what is expected to be the hottest day of the year so far. Whilst there will be some clouds in the sky around 10am, Nottingham will then have clear sunny skies until around 6pm according to the Met Office.
Met Office Chief Forecaster, Paul Gundersen, said: “The jet stream sitting to the north of the UK is holding unsettled weather systems at bay and allowing high pressure to dominate bringing fine weather to the vast majority of the UK. The current position of the high-pressure means we will see a westerly air flow over the UK, a cooler direction than if air was being brought up from the south, and areas such as Spain or Africa.
