Nottingham Forest have been linked with Argentina international Franco Armani as they face having to consider their goalkeeping options.
The Reds could lose first-choice Brice Samba this summer, in what would be a blow ahead of their return to the Premier League. With 12 months left on his contract, the 28-year-old is said to have deemed the terms of a new one “unacceptable” and told the club he is prepared to leave during this transfer window.
Unless the situation can be resolved, Forest would have to decide between cashing in on Samba now or seeing him leave as a free agent next year. Lens are said to have made a direct enquiry about securing his services.

The Reds have already been linked with Burnley’s Nick Pope. And reports from Argentina claim River Plate shot-stopper Armani is now on their radar.
Radio station El Esquiu say the 35-year-old is “wanted” by Forest. However, they add “no formal offers” have yet been made, with other reports mooting a £5m price tag.
In a translated interview, TyC Sports quote Armani’s agent, Martin Araoz, as saying a few weeks ago: “He deserves to make the leap to Europe. It may be after the World Cup, and it would be something suitable for him to achieve an economic difference for his family, his future. Let's not forget that this is a job for the players, but we'll see.”
Armani counts Argentine sides Ferro Carril Oeste and Deportivo Merlo, as well as Colombian outfit Atletico Nacional, as his former clubs. He was part of the Argentina squad which won the Copa America last year.
