Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for Real Madrid defender Alvaro Odriozola.
The right-back’s future is up in the air, having returned from a loan spell at Fiorentina. A summer switch could be a possibility as he finds himself out of favour under manager Caro Ancelloti at the Bernabeu.
The Reds have emerged as a “new suitor”, according to Spanish website AS, via Sport Witness. Amid suggestions Steve Cooper’s side “want” the 26-year-old, it is claimed the player would welcome a “possible departure to England”.

Earlier this summer Fiorentina were said to be keen on securing the return of Odriozola on a permanent basis. The Spaniard, who has two years left to run on his current contract, made 25 Serie A appearances for the Italian outfit as he impressed on loan last term, scoring one goal.
A fee of around 20m euros (roughly £16.8m) was mooted. However, reports stated “his high salary” of 4m euros a year could be a concern.
Previously, playing a part again for his parent club had not been ruled out. But Odriozola has yet to feature in the first two matches of this season.
The full-back started his career with Real Sociedad, moving on to Real Madrid in the summer of 2018. In addition to his spell at Fiorentina, he had a loan stint at Bayern Munich in the second half of the 2019/20 campaign.
Forest have had a busy summer in the transfer market, with Remo Freuler becoming the latest arrival at the City Ground on Sunday night. And their business is not done yet.
"I'd like to to be honest," boss Cooper said, when asked about adding more players this week. "I really hope everyone is looking into why we have made so many signings and not just putting the narrative out 'Forest have signed loads of players. Why?'.
"There's been a real rationale behind it. We've had no choice. I don't mind saying we'd have loved to carry on with our team of last season and made a few additions. Never going to happen.
"We're still in that process of becoming the team and squad we want to be. There's a couple of weeks left in the window and there will definitely be some ins and outs."
