Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham squad lists and team news for Carabao Cup tie

Nottingham Forest will take on Tottenham Hotspur in Carabao Cup third round tie at the City Ground this evening (7:45pm).

Steve Cooper is expected to change up his team, given they will play Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday. Spurs boss Antonio Conte, meanwhile, will want to ensure his side get through to the next round of the competition as he bids to end the club's trophy drought.

Having said that, he will be without some players due to injury, leaving the Italian to make some key decisions. The North London outfit went far in the competition last year, progressing to the semi finals before getting knocked out by rivals Chelsea.

Omar Richards has returned to training with Forest but will not feature against Spurs. The defender has recovered from a fractured leg but will not be considered for a debut this week as he builds up fitness.

Giulian Biancone (knee), Harry Toffolo (hamstring), Moussa Niakhate (hamstring) and Jack Colback (back) are all out.

As for Tottenham, Richarlison has returned to training following his calf injury but is expected to miss out, with the match coming too soon for him. Meanwhile, Cristian Romero (calf) and Son Heung-Min (facial injury) remain unavailable.

The good news for Conte is that Dejan Kulusevski is working his way from a hamstring injury and could be handed a start. He returned to action in Sunday's defeat against Liverpool.

Tottenham provisional squad: Lloris, Dier, Lenglet, Davies, Emerson, Betancur, Bissouma, Hojbjerg, Perisic, Moura, Kane, Forster, Sanchez, Tanganga, Doherty, Spence, Sessegnon, Kulusevski, Richarlison, Gil, Austin, Sarr, White.

Nottingham Forest provisional squad: Henderson, Hennessey, Worrall, Boly, Williams, Aurier, McKenna, Lodi, Gibbs-White, Kouyate, Yates, Mangala, Freuler, Johnson, Bade, Cook, Lingard, Awoniyi, Surridge, Dennis.
