Ahead of Sunday’s clash, we have the Nottingham Forest vs Southampton preview, prediction, latest team news and predicted lineups.
Nottingham Forest vs Southampton Preview
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have been one of the highlights of the season so far, as Nottingham Forest currently sit third in the table.
Forest picked up another impressive result in their latest league fixture, holding league-leaders Liverpool to a 1-1 draw at home and making it four from a possible six points against Arne Slot’s men.
This draw ended a run of seven consecutive wins across all competitions and Diogo Jota’s strike was the first time Forest have conceded in four league matches.
As for Southampton, performances have slightly improved under Ivan Juric, however, they still look set to face the drop as they sit bottom of the Premier League.
The Saints did put in a superb performance against Manchester United in their last fixture, boasting a 1-0 lead until the 82nd minute before Amad scored a 10 minute hat trick to secure the win for the Red Devils.
Southampton have not won in their last 11 Premier League matches and you have to go back to November 2nd 2024 to find their last, and only, three points.
These two sides met in August, as Nottingham Forest won the reverse fixture 1-0 away from home thanks to a Morgan Gibbs-White goal.
Nottingham Forest vs Southampton Team News
Nottingham Forest have an almost full squad to choose from for Sunday afternoon’s clash, as Ibrahim Sangare is the only absentee.
Chris Wood took his Premier League goal tally to 13 against Liverpool and should lead the line despite the return of Taiwo Awoniyi.
As for Southampton, Ivan Juric’s side left Old Trafford unscathed and face no fresh injury concerns for the trip up to Nottingham.
However, Jack Stephens and Ross Stewart will be unavailable once again as the duo continue their recovery from long-term injuries.

Nottingham Forest vs Southampton Prediction
Given the recent form of both sides this looks like a no-contest, especially as Southampton have picked up just six points from 21 league matches.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are heavy favourites on UK betting sites and we will have to agree with this pricing, as Forest should win by a clear margin.
Prediction: Nottingham Forest 3-0 Southampton
