Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has dismissed speculation that his DC United side are looking to sign Jesse Lingard.
The 30-year-old was recently released by Nottingham Forest having struggled to impress during his time at the City Ground. He arrived on a free transfer last summer but scored just twice for the Reds with both goals coming in the Carabao Cup.
Lingard saw his game time limited in his final few months at the club having played just two minutes for Steve Cooper's side since they lost 3-1 to Tottenham in March.
And with the summer transfer window now open, players from across Europe are being linked with a move to the States after Lionel Messi joined Inter Miami. One of those names is Lingard but his former Red Devils teammate has dismissed any speculation.
Fresh Henderson hold up
Nottingham Forest are being faced with a "stumbling block" in their pursuit of Dean Henderson according to a report.
The goalkeeper impressed during his loan spell at the City Ground last season having made vital saves for the Reds earlier in the campaign before picking up a season-ending injury in January.
Forest responded to Henderson's injury by signing former Real Madrid shot-stopper Keylor Navas on-loan. The Costa Rican also had an impressive impact but will be returning to his parent club Paris Saint-Germain.
With Navas and Henderson's loan spells coming to an end, it leaves Forest with a goalkeeping dilemma as Wayne Hennessey will be the only senior option at the club. The Reds are keen to fix this by signing Henderson on a permanent deal this summer.
Reds want World Cup star
Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Florentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat but face competition from West Ham, it is claimed.
The 26-year-old played a key role in the Italian side reaching the UEFA Conference League final where they finished runners-up to the Hammers. He played all but two matches from the group stages to the final in Prague.
Amrabat was also a key player for his country Morocco as they stunned the football world at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, knocking out Spain and Portugal to become the first African country to reach the semi-finals. They finished the tournament in fourth place.
And Italian news site Tuttomercatoweb claim that Forest "like" the defensive midfielder but they are not the only one's to have shown interest. Spanish giants Barcelona are also credited as being interested with the player's preference said to be for a move to Spain.
Turkish side want Scarpa
Turkish giants Besiktas are reportedly interested in signing Nottingham Forest midfielder Gustavo Scarpa.
The 29-year-old made the move to Forest in January but enjoyed a stop-start second half of the season due to injury and having to return to Brazil briefly for personal reasons.
He only made six appearances, starting twice with his last appearance coming in the defeat to Leeds in April. Despite his limited participation, Brazilian outlet BOLAVIP say Scarpa will remain at Forest as one of the 'main players' next season.
