Nottingham Forest transfer targets on the market as Tottenham stance revealed

Two Tottenham Hotspur players who were targeted by Nottingham Forest in the summer could become available in the winter transfer window.

Spurs are willing to loan out Djed Spence and Japhet Tanganga in January, according to the Evening Standard. Neither player has started a Premier League game under manager Antonio Conte this season.

Spence was on loan with Forest last season and played a pivotal role in helping the team win promotion via the Championship play-offs. The club missed out on signing him permanently after he chose to join the north London outfit from Middlesbrough.

Centre-back Tanganga was wanted on a season-long loan by the Reds, but Tottenham were unwilling to do so without finding a suitable replacement first. His only appearance this season was an 18-minute cameo against Marseille in the Champions League.

Alongside Bryan Gil and Pape Matar Sarr, Tanganga appears likely to head out on loan, while a decision on Spence still needs to be made. If more minutes are not forthcoming, the wing-back may push through a short-term move.

Forest's summer business may negate any potential move for the Spurs pair, however. Neco Williams and Serge Aurier have both played in the same position as Spence since joining the team, while several central defenders now populate the squad.
