Nottingham Forest transfer stance emerges as 'regret' claim made

Good morning, Reds fans. Here is a look at your latest Nottingham Forest headlines ahead of the weekend's game against Arsenal.

Nottingham Forest stance on Djed Spence after Tottenham transfer claim emerges

Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper has said that he "does not want to compare" summer signing Neco Williams with predecessor Djed Spence, who reportedly may be on the move from Tottenham during the January transfer window.

After arriving at the City Ground from Liverpool back in July, the Wales international has appeared to be the most natural successor to last season's loanee after the Reds were unable to re-sign Spence from Middlesbrough before Spurs made their move. While Williams' move saw an uptick in minutes compared to staying at Anfield, the Spurs signing has made just three late cameos under Antonio Conte in the Premier League so far this season.

Nottingham Forest transfer target 'can go free' as manager reveals 'regret'

São Paulo manager Rogério Ceni has admitted that midfielder Igor Gomes "can go free" when the player's contract expires in the new year amid reported interest from Nottingham Forest.

A former Brazil youth international, the 23-year-old has made almost 200 appearances for the club from the country's most populous city over the last five seasons since being promoted to the senior side while still a teenager. Primarily played as an attacking midfielder, Gomes has scored ten goals and assisted a further 15, including six so far this season.

Forest are already set to sign one player on a free transfer from South America when the January transfer window opens to bolster their midfield options in the form of Palmeiras playmaker Gustavo Scarpa. The one-cap Brazil international has recently spoken about how the move will fulfil one of his "biggest dreams".

Jurgen Klopp makes 'strange' Nottingham Forest comment about Liverpool match

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp described his side's defeat to Nottingham Forest as "a strange game" during a pre-match press conference ahead of the club's Champions League match against Ajax.

Forest shocked Liverpool at the City Ground over the weekend to put an end to their momentum after back-to-back Premier League wins against Manchester City and West Ham United. Despite the result, Klopp was short on praise for the host's performance and rather lamented the "six clear chances" that his side missed.

Since then Ajax head coach Alfred Schreuder has also agreed with Klopp, stating: “Of course, they lost to Nottingham Forest, but could also have won, 4-1 or 5-1.” At his own presser, Klopp has once again explained that injuries are affecting the consistency of their performances.

'Love that' - Ed Sheeran makes surprise Nottingham Forest admission during European tour

World-famous singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has revealed he was "really chuffed" when Nottingham Forest got promoted back to the Premier League.

Speaking on the latest episode of That Peter Crouch Podcast, Sheeran was speaking about the possibility of seeing his team Ipswich Town get back to the Premier League. He then made a comment about Forest, which plenty of Reds supporters will be pleased to hear.

"It'd do a lot for the town if we (Ipswich) got promoted," Sheeran said in a podcast interview recorded on the Zurich leg of his European tour. "If we got to the Premier League it would be mad having Man City coming to play at Portman Road."
