There are just hours of the January transfer window remaining and there could still be activity involving Nottingham Forest.
The Reds remain interested in a number of players while speculation continues to rage over the future of talented forward Brennan Johnson amid interest from Premier League Brentford.
Here’s a round-up of the latest Reds transfer news…
Forest 'keen' on Gayle transfer
Nottingham Forest are one of the clubs reportedly ‘keen’ on completing a deadline day move for striker Dwight Gayle.
Steve Cooper is likely to want to add to his attacking options in the final hours of the transfer window, especially with main striker Lewis Grabban limping off the pitch in Sunday’s defeat against Cardiff City.
“We’re not sure about the extent of Lewis’ injury yet. He’s in a boot and he’s in quite a bit of pain,” head coach Steve Cooper said on Grabban’s injury.
“We’ll have to get him scanned in the next 12 or 24 hours and see how he is.”
Forest 'prepare' final offer for winger Wallace
Nottingham Forest are reportedly ready to submit an improved bid to sign Millwall winger Jed Wallace.
The 27-year-old has been a target of the Reds throughout the transfer window.
It looked as if Forest would have to move on to other targets, with Millwall turning down a number of offers for the former Wolves and Portsmouth man.
But it has been claimed this morning (Monday) that Forest are preparing an improved offer for Wallace in the hope of getting a deal over the line before tonight’s 11pm deadline.
Bowler deadline day exit hint amid Forest interest
Blackpool manager Neil Critchley has hinted in-demand winger Josh Bowler could leave the club ahead of tonight’s transfer deadline amid interest from Nottingham Forest.
The Red are believed to have had bids rejected for the former Everton youngster this month while Fulham and Bournemouth are also understood to be interested in the player.
Bowler took his opportunity to impress against Fulham on Saturday, scoring Blackpool’s goal as the Seasiders secured a surprise 1-1 draw at the free-scoring Championship leaders.
After the game, Critchley was asked if he was hopeful Bowler would still be a Blackpool player beyond the window.
Arsenal and Tottenham 'lining up' Spence bids
Nottingham Forest defender Djed Spence is wanted by both Arsenal and Tottenham, according to reports in the north-east.
The right-back has been superb for the Reds since arriving from Middlesbrough on loan at the start of the season.
Boro opted against recalling Spence this month, allowing the 21-year-old to remain at the City Ground for the rest of the season.
However, Spence could end up signing for a Premier League giant before the end of the day.
According to the Northern Echo, the north London rivals are lining up bids for Spence.
