A round-up of all the latest Nottingham Forest headlines on Wednesday, August 17.
Brighton boss drops Forest transfer hint
Brighton manager Graham Potter has said that he is happy with his attacking options at the club, hinting that Neal Maupay could be on the move this summer.
Reports claim that Nottingham Forest are ‘closing in’ on a £15 million move for the 26-year-old this summer. The forward was left out of the Seagulls’ squad entirely for the weekend’s clash against Newcastle United.
He was also an unused substitute for the season’s opening game against Manchester United - a match in which Brighton came out as 2-1 winners. Speaking after the game against Newcastle on Saturday, Potter said that there was ‘no update’ on a potential move to Forest for Maupay, but did highlight the strength he has in the area and the possibility of returning to the market for more options.
Transfer 'gamble' warning as Marinakis point made
Nottingham Forest have "gambled" in the transfer market this summer but are giving themselves the "best chance" of it paying off, according to BBC pundit Chris Sutton.
Forest have been very active in the summer transfer window, the Reds bringing a total of 15 new faces into the club so far. It seems that more are to follow with the club linked with striker Neal Maupay and midfielder Houssem Aouar.
Speaking about the transfer activity, Sutton outlined one issue that could become a "huge problem" for Forest should the signings not gel this season.

Transfer twist as Premier League rivals 'pushing' for target
Nottingham Forest face competition from two Premier League teams over the transfer of Brighton and Hove Albion striker Neal Maupay, according to reports.
The forward has been heavily linked with a £15million move to the City Ground in the last few days, with Forest said to be ‘closing in’ on the transfer as Steve Cooper continues to strengthen his squad. Maupay was left out of the Seagulls’ squad for their Premier League game against Newcastle this weekend ahead of a possible move.
But it now seems that the deal might not be as simple as first anticipated. According to talkSPORT , both Fulham and Everton have now joined the race for the player after Forest had a £15m bid accepted by Brighton at the weekend.
Forest transfer mix key as 'huge' West Ham win provides unseen boost
Former England goalkeeper Rob Green has highlighted the importance of Nottingham Forest picking up their first win of the Premier League season in helping to gel their new-look squad.
Forest have been one of the most active teams in the transfer window this summer. The arrivals of Emmanuel Dennis, Remo Freuler and Cheikhou Kouyaté over the weekend means the Reds have now added 15 new faces to their squad since the start of the transfer window.
Speaking on BBC Five Live’s Monday Night Club programme, Green highlighted how big changes for promoted teams are now the done thing. He also outlined the key to quickly helping new players settle in.
He said: “It’s the new model isn’t it? One team to get you up. I’ve had it numerous times in my career where you got promoted and you looked around and went, ‘Well this is the last time we’re going to play together'.
