Nottingham Forest transfer exit confirmed

Nottingham Forest's young defender Sam Sanders has joined York City, the Conference North side have confirmed.

Sanders has put pen to paper on a one-month youth loan with the Minstermen who are pushing for promotion.

York confirmed the move in a statement on their website although it is subject to National League approval.

It read: "We are delighted to announce the signing of Sam Sanders from Nottingham Forest.

"The 20-year-old defender joins on a one-month youth loan from the Championship side.

"John Askey’s latest recruit has played 15 times this season at centre half in the Premier League 2 with Forest U23s – who currently sit in 5th place.

"Sanders will wear the number 31 shirt for the duration of his loan deal.

"Subject to FA and National League approval, Sanders will be available for this weekend’s home game against Guiseley."

Sanders is not the only Forest player to be out on loan to a National League side, with Jayden Richardson currently on loan at the Reds' neighbours, Notts County.

He has been excellent for the Magpies where he will remain for the rest of the season as they look for promotion to the Football League.
