Nottingham Forest have announced that Nicholas Ioannou has left the club permanently to join Italian second-tier side Como.
The 26-year-old spent the entirety of last season on loan at the Serie B side, making 31 appearances in all. Ioannou had also spent the second half of the previous campaign on loan in the Greek Super League with Aris Thessaloniki.
A 17-cap Cyprus international, the defender has featured twice for the Reds this summer during their pre-season preparations for the Premier League season. The first of those came out in Spain against Coventry City, and what turned out to be his final outing in Garibaldi came against Burton Albion.

In a statement, Forest have thanked Ioannou 'for his service during his time on Trentside and wish him all the best for the future'. After arriving from APOEL in his homeland just under two years ago in September 2020, Ioannou made five appearances during the 2020/21 season.
They came at the start of the campaign as then manager Sabri Lamouchi gave the defender his debut from the start in a defeat to Bristol City before sticking with the full-back for the following away win at Blackburn Rovers and trio of draws against Rotherham United, Derby County and Luton Town. Ioannou was though shown a straight red card just before half-time in the latter and never played in a competitive match for Forest again.
