Nottingham Forest target Orel Mangala "can imagine" staying at Stuttgart despite rumours linking him with a move away from the Bundesliga club, according to his agent.
The 24-year-old had been identified as an option to bolster Steve Cooper's options in midfield as Forest prepare for their return to the Premier League. Previous reports claimed the Reds had made an initial offer for the midfielder, but were not alone in their pursuit.
Crystal Palace and West Ham United were also credited with an interest in the player, who has two years remaining on his current deal in Germany. The Belgian has a €15 million (about £13m) price tag after featuring 28 times in the Bundesliga last season.

Now, speaking to SWR Sport [via Sport Witness ], Mangala's agent has claimed he could remain at Stuttgart. Mehmet Eser said: "Orel can imagine staying in Stuttgart. VfB has a strong team; they can attack next season. There are clubs who want to sign him, but you have to respect the contract in Stuttgart. If VfB is willing to give him up, then we have to talk.
"We have always been treated well here by the management and the coaching team. Orel needs time in action. The World Cup is his goal. For the next step, the perspective of the project must be right above all. The money is secondary."
