Nottingham Forest told to complete 'unreal' £17.5m transfer

Nottingham Forest fans have reacted to the club's reported approach for Burnley ace Maxwel Cornet, which is said to have been rejected.

Steve Cooper is keen to continue chasing signings ahead of Forest's return to the Premier League. Most recently, the Reds have announced Moussa Niakhate, who became the fourth signing of the summer, but they are far from finished with their business.

However, the Reds would reportedly face competition from a number of clubs for Cornet, including Chelsea. It is understood the Clarets are willing to let their player go if his release clause of £17.5million is met - having already had conversations with clubs.

Here is what the Forest faithful had to say about whether they would like to see him at the City Ground...

Daniel King: "Interesting… wonder if Cornet would be intended to allow a 5-2-3 in a wide left, with Johnson in a wide right?"

Ghgh: "He’s left footed, can play as winger or LWB. Stars in counter attack (26 EPL games, 9 goals last year). Has £17.5m buy out if relegated…"

Kazza: "He looked awful when I saw him play for Burnley. Missed some absolute sitters!"

Lee Clarke: "He did score nine goals in his maiden campaign in the PL too.."

Ryan Thorndyke: "100% I'd take him."

Stephen Phills: "£17.5m release clause, I'd go for that all day, he's so versatile and would fit Cooper's bill."

Will Tooley: "Unreal player, yes please."

Neil Scab: "I'd have him."

Garibaldi Red Steve: "Please give him shirt number 99."

Jacob Charles David Hallam: "He's 10x better than Lolley, he has dropped a lot in quality."

Liam Tantum: "Sign him up, good player."

Steven Halford: "He's quality."
