Nottingham Forest told club's transfer stance on former Wolves defender who 'wants to leave'

Besitkas sporting director Ceyhun Kazancı is claimed to have revealed that Romain Saiss "wants to leave" amid links with a move to Nottingham Forest.

The centre-back has spent the past season playing his football in the Turkish Superlig for Besitkas. He made 26 appearances across all competitions for them.

Saiss has been linked with a move to the City Ground for some time with the Moroccan international spending six years at Molineux before moving to Turkey last summer.

And in quotes relayed by NTV Spor (via SportWitness), it is claimed that Kazancı has said that they "will approve his departure" when talking about supposed wantaway defender Saiss, if "an offer meets our expectations."

“Saiss wants to leave,” he said. “But we haven’t received an offer at the level we wanted yet. If the offer meets our expectations, we will approve his departure.”

The Reds may not be the only ones who are potentially interested in acquiring Saiss' signature this summer. Previous reports have claimed that Everton are also interested in signing him.

It has also been claimed that Saiss wants to remain in a top league ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations and the next World Cup in 2026.

Saiss could provide some valuable Premier League experience at the heart of the Forest defence next season. However, with Felipe, Worrall and Niakhate the settled centre-back trio at the City Ground he may find more opportunities for game time at Goodison Park.
