Nottingham Forest told 'anything is possible' after Leicester City performance

"Anything is possible" for Nottingham Forest this season after their FA Cup run continued on Sunday against Leicester City.

That's according to Sky Sports presenter David Prutton, who believes that they can build on that performance for the visit to Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday night.

The hosts from Lancashire sit second in the Championship table ahead of the midweek round of fixtures but have won just one of their last four league outings after losing in South Wales to ten-man Swansea City on Saturday.

That was, though, with star striker and Forest academy product Ben Brereton Diaz only fit enough to feature for half an hour from the bench after returning from international duty with Chile.

Nevertheless, the fellow youth system graduate has backed the Reds to triumph against their promotion-chasing rivals.

"Blackburn missed a big opportunity at the weekend to really nail down their top-two credentials but fell to a frustrating defeat at Swansea," Prutton told Sky Sports.

"Nottingham Forest enjoyed another fantastic FA Cup day against Leicester.

"If they can take that performance and build on it, then anything is possible, starting with a win at Ewood Park."

Prutton predicted the scoreline will be 1-2.

Should that prediction prove correct, then Steve Cooper's side could head into the weekend as high as sixth place and in the play-off positions should other result go their way.

Cooper spoke of wanting the Reds to become a "real proper team" after the Leicester match, and that attention had already turned to Blackburn.

“I’m proud of the team and proud of the club," Cooper said. But if we want to be a real proper team with a real winning mentality, then we have to get ready for the next game. That’s the only thing I’m thinking about."
