Nottingham Forest are reportedly expected to reignite their interest for Atalanta star Ruslan Malinovskyi in the January transfer window.
The 29-year-old midfielder was heavily linked with a move away from the Serie A side in the summer, which saw Forest emerge as a potential destination alongside West Ham. The Reds apparently "came forward" for his signing but his reported £43million price tag is said to have proved a stumbling block.
Now, according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, a transfer for Malinovskyi in the winter could be a real possibility due to the player's "very complicated" relationship with manager Gian Piero Gasperini.

The report highlights that the Ukraine international has gone from being "irreplaceable to becoming a reserve," in recent months. In 12 league appearances so far, the midfielder has featured in the starting line-up just four times.
With interest to secure his services coming mainly from the Premier League, Forest and the Hammers now reportedly face competition from Tottenham Hotspur, as well as Ligue 1 side Marseille.
Malinovskyi, who has now entered the final year of his contract, could be offloaded for a cheaper transfer fee in January.
