Thomas Tuchel’s departure from Chelsea has got Nottingham Forest fans fearing it could set off a chain of events that lead to the departure of Steve Cooper.
Tuchel was dismissed following on from the Blues’ tame Champions League defeat to Dinamo Zagreb - their third defeat in seven games. The usual suspects were immediately installed at the head of the betting, with Mauricio Pochettino the early favourite to be installed in the Stamford Bridge hot seat.
However, a flood of bets on Brighton boss Graham Potter have seen him slashed to odds-on and Forest fans now fear Cooper could be the man to replace him at the Amex. Cooper is yet to sign a contract extension despite leading Nottingham Forest back to the Premier League and is now in the final 12 months of the two-year deal.

The Forest boss has brought in 21 signings in the summer transfer window but that hasn’t stopped fans speculating about a switch to the south coast.
This is what Forest supporters have been saying on Twitter:
@ConorHedges: Brighton are going to tap Steve Cooper up aren’t they?
@michaelarcher7: If Potter goes to Chelsea, can see Brighton going for Cooper - really fits their style...
@BarnacleRed: I thought the Brighton way was to identify potential and give it a chance. If Potter left - and right now that’s just my speculation- I wouldn’t be surprised if Brighton wanted to talk to Cooper and find more out about him. I’d say he’s done enough to be listened to.
@IanPidgeon3: I hate to say it but Cooper is the sort of manager Brighton would go for should Potter join Chelsea.
@Marsbits_: We just need Cooper to sign a new deal, before Brighton come sniffing.
@jakekervick: Cooper sign the deal so that when Potter goes to Chelsea, Brighton don’t come for you. Thanks.
@J_reilly31: Potter to Chelsea screams Cooper to Brighton to me.
