Nottingham Forest star sent Premier League message after Wales goal vs Belgium

Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson has been dubbed a "wonderful talent" with "a lot more to come" by caretaker Wales manager Rob Page after scoring a first senior international goal against Belgium.

The 21-year-old was initially named as a substitute at the Cardiff City Stadium against the number one ranked nation in Europe, before being introduced to replace Gareth Bale with just over a quarter of an hour to play. That was more than enough time for Johnson to have an impact, though, as the substitute struck to seal a point four minutes from time.

It was not just that performance that impressed Page either. The Reds attacker also came off the bench to great effect against Ukraine as World Cup qualification was achieved in the same stadium six days earlier.

"He came on as sub last week [against Ukraine] and hit the post with his first touch, I think," Page told Wales Online. "He's a wonderful talent.

"I'm looking forward to watching him in the Premier League next season and watching him grow with us, because every time he comes on, he impresses, shows his worth, so he deserved his goal. He's got a lot more to come as well.

"We see it day in, day out. We had a chat with him yesterday. [Wales assistant coach] Alan Knill showed him his clips back and where we think he can improve. He's shown it again tonight."
