Awoniyi's passionate vow
Striker Taiwo Awoniyi is prepared to prove himself all over again as he looks ahead to the new season with Nottingham Forest.
Injury hampered the 25-year-old last term, ruling him out just when he had started to find form for the Reds following his summer move. However, he returned for the final stretch and was integral in Steve Cooper’s side securing survival.
Awoniyi netted six goals in four games during the run-in, including scoring the winner in the crucial victory over Arsenal, to take his tally to 11 for the campaign in all competitions. He admits it was a “tough” year but has praised Cooper for fostering a strong team spirit in difficult circumstances.
Forest make key appointment
Nottingham Forest have appointed former Chelsea fitness specialist Adam Burrows, according to reports.
The move is said to be an attempt to combat the injury issues Steve Cooper's team faced last season. Forest had 37 injuries in 2022/23, with only Chelsea and Liverpool having more, according to the Premier Injuries website.
The Athletic claims the Reds have appointed Burrows in a bid to avoid their high level of injuries.
Gibbs-White shares Euros joy
Morgan Gibbs-White has been sharing his joy over England Under-21s' famous European Championship success with some young fans back in Nottingham.
The 23-year-old Nottingham Forest star played a key role in the Young Lions winning their first Euros title in 39 years on Saturday. He played almost every minute of the tournament and replicated the form he showed in helping to keep the Reds in the Premier League last season.
A deflected goal in first-half stoppage time by Liverpool's Curtis Jones and a late penalty save from goalkeeper James Trafford saw England get over the line at the Adjarabet Arena in Georgia with a 1-0 victory over Spain.
Renan Lodi claim made
Nottingham Forest have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Atletico Madrid left-back Renan Lodi.
There have been contrasting reports in recent days, with some suggesting Forest were in talks over a move for their former loanee, while another claimed he would 'soon' be joining French club Marseille.
Forest are said to be keen on signing the 25-year-old permanently after his successful loan spell last season, which saw him play 28 games in the Premier League as the Reds finished 16th.
