Nottingham Forest star makes 'difficult' admission after January arrival

Nottingham Forest midfielder Danilo has admitted that his arrival in England was "difficult" but that he has adapted after "having a doubt".

The 22-year-old joined the Reds during the January transfer window from Brazilian side Palmeiras. He has scored three goals alongside two assists in 14 appearances since making his debut away at Bournemouth.

But he struggled to become a regular part of Steve Cooper's team upon his arrival in English football and did not play a single minute for four games between February 25 and March 17.

And now he has opened up on how difficult the beginning of his Forest career was amid struggles to gain any time on the pitch.

“I don’t speak English, so that part was already difficult," he told ESPN Brasil. "But with the help of Renan, Scarpa and Felipe, I managed to adapt.

“At first it was bad, because at Palmeiras I always played. Here I debuted, in the other game I started, in the other I came in, then I wasn’t brought in anymore. Then you start ‘hey, I’m not playing’. Having a doubt.

“But everything is a process, everything happens in God’s time, and the time. As I tell my friends, God’s time has come to bless me and I was able to embrace the opportunity from Wolverhampton until today, doing my best. I thank the Brazilians and teammates for their support. And I only have to grow even more.”
