Jesse Lingard has affectionately described the atmosphere at the City Ground as a "joke", insisting it plays a crucial role for Nottingham Forest.
The 31-year-old made the switch to Forest in the summer from Manchester United, where he spent most of his career. Lingard has received support from the Reds faithful as he settles into the club.
Despite a slow start under Steve Cooper, he has gone on to showcase his worth, and started 11 games for the side before picking up a hamstring injury. Despite being at the club for only six months, Lingard insists the atmosphere at the City Ground is something he has never "experienced before."

"Home games can be really crucial and key because of that atmosphere," he told The Diary of a CEO podcast. "It’s nothing that I’ve ever experienced before. I’ve never played in an atmosphere like that before a game, it’s a joke. It gives me goosebumps every time."
