Nottingham Forest player-to-be Gustavo Scarpa is being warned about making a move to the City Ground in January by former Brazil international Edmundo.
The Palmeiras player has signed a pre-contract agreement with the Reds to arrive at the start of the January transfer window once his contract with the Brazilian club comes to an end at the end of this calendar year. Scarpa has enjoyed great success with the São Paulo-based side, winning the Copa Libertadores in back-to-back years as well as the country's top-flight title and the Copa do Brasil since signing in 2018.
His side also currently sit six points clear atop the league table once again, so the 28-year-old has the chance to sign off a fine four years with another trophy to add to the collection. Whether lifting that title is Scarpa's last action in green or not, it is likely that a Premier League relegation battle will be waiting for him with the Reds, which worries Edmundo.

“Scarpa is a special situation. It’s very personal for him to want this adventure in European football,” says Edmundo on his YouTube channel, Mundo Ed [via HITC ]. “I think somehow he will regret it. Because for those who are used to winning things, playing in a team that will fight against relegation can be very frustrating.
“Scarpa is different. He has a low centre of gravity. He has creativity and ‘solves that Rubik’s Cube’. He’s more than just a football player.”
